Is the PMP Certification for Me?
Updated: Aug 15, 2018
Getting the certification shows the world (since it is internationally recognized), that you know project management.
PMI's PMP certification recognizes demonstrated competence in leading and directing project teams. If you’re an experienced project manager looking to solidify your skills, stand out to employers and maximize your earning potential, the PMP credential is the right choice for you.
Do you qualify?
To earn your PMP, you must have a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education OR a four-year degree (bachelor’s degree or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
Do you want more money?
Crazy question... Right? I think most of us would agree that it isn't a bad thing to make more money. It does take time to study and the test is not easy, but most people can get this within a year of deciding to take the test.
Smartsheet suggests that it can bump your salary by 10-22 percent!
